Gridded out Carrigain, one of my favorite mountains, and had great company for the day including some very aggressive Canada Jays and a Spruce Grouse!! This hike is sometimes more difficult than it should be because of the steady uphill in the last couple of miles but it was really cold so the trail was frozen solid making easy going and Hillsounds were adequate for everything but the road walk. We carried snowshoes but then we always have to carry them this time of year because you never know what's out there. Water crossings were a little high so had to step in a little but the boots and gaiters worked fine for all of us. Nice day and fun hike! 548/576
