Perfect conditions for this beautiful hike to Adams and Madison, and the first snow and ice of the season. We switched to old microspikes when we got above treeline on Airline and definitely needed them hiking up the summit cone of Adams. Madison was not as snowy and icy but the descent on Valley Way was very wet and slippery from melting snow. Days like this don't happen often, in the 40's up there with very little wind!
