Desert Lavender (Hyptis emoryi)

This highly aromatic sage is a large shrub found in washes and canyons. It is easily recognized by its gray bark and opposite oval-shaped leaves. Dense clusters of small, pale purple flowers attract a variety of desert insects in the spring.
