Southern Sea Palm (Eisenia arborea)

This brown alga resembling a miniature palm tree grows in clusters attached to large rocks at the edge of the low-tide zone. It is yellow-brown in color and about three feet long. Its very stiff stipe is divided at the tip and the thin fronds are produced in clumps on each branch. The divided stipe distinguishes this species from the more northern species having a similar growth form.
This plant is a juvenile, still have its terminal blace
