Voilier rejeté par la Tempête.

Ouessant.

This sailboat belongs to a navigator not accustomed to the marine currents that encircle the island of Ouessant and which are particularly dangerous during strong storms. The man was rescued but his boat was thrown into the small harbour south of the island …

I can imagine that that was quite frightening for him and certainly harmful to his boat. Still, it makes for a really wonderful images with both the boat and the old buildings. ~BV~

Good example of a photo that tells a story. But sad for the navigator of the sailboat.

A fine image showing the perils of not properly planning according to tidal changes and storms!

Those seas we've been seeing are not a place for the unprepared !! The man was lucky to have survived !! Such a pretty little harbour ! V

C’est triste pour le voilier mais cela fait une belle image.

What a disaster. Fortunately he was rescued- can't say the same for his boat. Definitely a case where a little local knowledge goes a long way.

an excellent shot, both for scene setting and for making clear the owner's dilemma..the boat sits well above sea level, and behind a wall...any solution will be costly..
