Si l’on excepte une expérience malheureuse avec un chauffeur de taxi qui visiblement n’aimait pas les gaijin nous avons été partout accueilli amicalement au Japon. Certains japonais étaient même très prévenants dans la rue, les restaurants, les bus...
Nous avons été surpris par le fait que plusieurs jeunes japonais nous aient adressés la parole en français lorsqu’ils nous entendaient parler cette langue dans la rue. Ils avaient fait des stages de formation de haute cuisine à Lyon ou à Paris et rêvaient tous d’ouvrir un restaurant français à Kyoto… Entre restaurants italiens, Mad Donald, Boulangeries et Patisseries françaises, dépêchez-vous si vous voulez toujours manger japonais au Japon ! :)


Except for an unfortunate experience with a taxi driver who obviously didn’t like the gaijin we were everywhere welcomed friendly in Japan. Some Japanese were even very considerate in the streets, restaurants, buses...
We were surprised by the fact that a number of young Japanese people spoke to us in French when they heard us speak that language on the street. They had done training courses in haute cuisine in Lyon or Paris and all dreamed of opening a French restaurant in Kyoto…
With all the Italian restaurants, the macDonald and the French pastries and bakeries, you have to rush if you still want to have a chance to eat Japanese in Japan ! :)
