Born September 9, 1936, Tom Bennett was freed from his earthly bonds on December 7, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Tom grew up on an Indiana farm, graduated from Purdue University in 1958, and entered the USAF as a fighter pilot. Tom served three tours of duty in Southeast Asia, and finished his 26-year career as commander of the National Emergency Airborne Command Post. Tom retired as a Colonel in 1985. He spent the next 20 years raising cattle on his Indiana farm. In 2005, Tom suffered a heart attack and stroke. I am incredibly blessed to have known him.
