" Schofield Revolver "

"The Schofield was redesigned from the orginal Smith & Wesson Russian revolver by Major George Schofield, thus aquiring its legendary name. This graceful and accurate sidearm was used briefly by the U.S. Cavalry on the American frontier,
because it was easier to reload from the saddle than other pistols.. The Schofield quickly became a favorite in the west, and was a prefered sidearm of Frank and Jessie James. It was also purchased in a shorter version by The Pinkerton Agency,
and was the standard issue revolver for all of the their agents....I am proud to say this is my Schofield - Cal: 44-40, 7 1/2 inch barrel"
