Gail Trenholm points out that these blue spots look like those at the bottom of the web page:http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php?vernacular_name=Small%20Copper
That website refers to the blue-spotted coppers as the aberration: caeruleopunctata.

James Scott's 'Butterflies of North America' color plate 30, specimen 371b has blue spots, too. The text (p. 387) indicates that the subspecies 'arethusa' and 'polaris' sometimes have blue upper hindwing submarginal spots and it calls this 'form caeruleopunctata'.
