That one picture could well be of a Blanket Dance, but the people featured appear to be Shawl Dancers -- a modern style devised by young women who decided not to let the Fancy Dance boys have a monopoly on showing-off, vigorous exercise, & skillful footwork. (Or so it seems to this Southern Californian who's accustomed to local pan-Indian powwows.)
