The new photos labelled "Florida -June 2010 - Sanibel Is" were taken (most) during our recent week at Sanibel Island, Florida (west coast). The Poincianas were in full bloom and the birds were doing their spring ritual of procreating and rearing their young. The owls were taken two or three weeks prior to Sanibel - they were doing their thing in Davie, Florida. Most of the close-ups were taken with either a Nikkor 80-400mm VR most at ~400mm or Sigma 170-500mm lens at ~500mm. Long lenses are needed to get close, but this results in a shallow depth of field and some degree of blur. Enjoy!
