These are some images of one of the young Green-backed Herons that became entangled in some fishing line someone managed to get hung in the trees on the island in the middle of the pond. I went home and changed clothes, and got the gear I needed to come back and free him, but when I returned he had already freed himself -- Thank God!

If you look closely at the images, you can see the monofilament line tangle in his wings. Hopefully he learned to stay away from that area.
