These images document our flight across Cook Inlet to the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, where we stayed at the Silver Salmon Creek Lodge (SSCL). The flight was provided by Natron Air out of the Soldotna Airport and was a great experience as we had our first ever beach landing. That experience was quickly upstaged by some incredible bear viewing under the direction and supervision of our SSCL bear guide, Rick. It was an awesome experience to be able to watch and photograph the huge coastal brown bears reaching deep into the muddy silt and pulling up a clam, then effortlessly flicking open the shell to eat the fresh clam inside!
The next morning we returned to Soldotna across the Cook Inlet by boat, got in our car we had left at Natron, and drove on to Homer.
