The Berylline Hummingbird was a much-wanted species on a recent visit to southeastern Arizona. When we finally caught up with this little beauty it was one of those sunny Arizona mornings, which present some photographic challenges. This hummingbird was hanging around in a shady area but no matter how much I tried to get an angle with fairly even lighting it just wasn’t happening. Instead, I just had to do my best to balance the exposure to show off some of the bird’s beautiful color without allowing the br background to totally dominate the photo.
