I finished the month of June with a visit to Surfside and during my visit I had a nice experience with this Magnificent Frigatebird. I love those long wings and the way these birds can just hang in the area with what appears to be almost no effort at all. It’s also impressive when they decide to go after another bird to steal food. I had been watching this bird flying around way in the distance when I looked down at a huge tanker that was coming through the channel. When I looked up this frigatebird was right above me, then, within moments the bird was way out over the Gulf of Mexico. It’s amazing how such a brief moment can be so exciting.
