As I was wondering around in Sam Houston National Forest during a visit last month, I heard an Indigo Bunting singing near the road in a big field of new pine trees. There was a lot of vegetation between the road and the area where the bunting was singing so I tried my best to find an opening for a photo. As I searched, I looked up and spotted this Orchard Oriole. I don’t know if he really was or not, but I swear it looked like he was checking me out. I’m guessing he must have had a nest nearby.
