I could see some red flashing around in the trees as I was walking the side of the road in Sam Houston National Forest recently. At first, I thought it was a Northern Cardinal but then he popped out and looked at me and I realized I had a Summer Tanager. He didn’t hang around for long but I liked seeing him peek out at me.
