This Green Heron was quite entertaining as it did what almost resembled yoga on the hand-rail of the new (to me at least) handrail at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center during a recent visit. My best guess is that this was part of a courtship display. I’ve seen Green Herons in similar positions while hunting dragonflies but there were no insects around that I could see in this case.
