I think this Black-billed Cuckoo wanted to be a model. Those that were able to witness this beauty were treated to a real show. I first spotted the bird when he flew into some dense vegetation and pretty much kept himself out of sight. After a half hour or so of rest he moved to a more exposed location and we thought it was fantastic to just have a few twigs in front of the bird. After a little while the bird hopped to several different perches, a couple of which, were barely more than arm’s length. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had a Black-billed Cuckoo be this cooperative. What a treat!!!
