We searched for the Cuban Gnatcatcher for quite a while without any success, checking the coastal scrub habitat in numerous places but there were simply none to be found. It was starting to get late in the afternoon and I was getting a little concerned that we might miss the species altogether when Joanne insisted that we check down by the beach. I didn’t believe they could possibly be there because it was so windy. Thankfully Joanne walked down to the beach where this little beauty was waiting for her. Lucky for the rest of us it hung around long enough for everyone to get a photo!
