The Loggerhead Kingbird is a bigger, meaner looking version of the Eastern Kingbird, at least that’s how it looks to me. They were pretty much everywhere in Cuba that we visited but this was the first one I saw during our visit. It’s funny because I really had to search to find one in Puerto Rico when I saw this species for the first time so I guess I had an expectation that the situation would be similar in Cuba. When this bird appeared, I was working on getting a photo of a Cuban Green Woodpecker and I allowed the kingbird to distract me from what was, as I recall, the only Cuban Green Woodpecker I saw on the trip. If only I knew then what I know now.
