The Cuban Solitaire is one of those birds that really makes me wonder. How did a solitaire get to the island and what species is its closest relative? It may not be a terribly flashy bird but it has one crazy voice. We could hear several of them singing all around us in the woods and at least a couple sounded quite close but it took us quite some time searching before we actually spotted one. The call reminds me a lot of the Black-faced Solitaire in Costa Rica.
