Yellow-headed Warbler

Cuba

When I started getting serious about birding, I bought a book about all the different new world warblers and at that time the Yellow-headed Warbler was included in the Parulidae family. I guess I waited too long to visit Cuba because as I understand it the Yellow-headed Warbler is now in the Cuban warbler family. Whatever the current taxonomy is, this is still a neat little bird that I was extremely excited to see. They seem to have endless energy, darting all over the place in the dense undergrowth making their buzzy ticking call. They really kept us on our toes as we tried to photograph them. It was absolutely a challenge to get a photo without tons of sticks all around; this was one of the cleaner shots. This bird and what I assume was its mate had no trouble keeping us occupied for quite a long time as they foraged around us.

Very crisp. Whilst living in the UK, and haven't visited the US for a few years, I do have the Audubon app to admire the birds you have over there.
We have the Goldcrest and Firecrest which are very difficult to capture cleanly - they are closely related to your Kinglets.
