The siren song of spring migration got me out for a bit yesterday and I decided to give the Quintana Neotropical Bird Sanctuary a try. Unfortunately, it was a bit sparse in terms of birds but there were a few to get my blood pumping. There was a beautiful male Ruby-throated Hummingbird, a couple of Northern Parulas and a handful of other birds but by far the model of the bunch was this Gray Catbird. I was quite pleased that he perched in such a well exposed location given that they are usually super sneaky and there is a lot of brush for them to hide in at Quintana.
