After years of wanting to visit Cuba I finally got the opportunity to do so earlier this month. With all the complications related to the coronavirus outbreak I was worried that the trip might not happen but thankfully all the planning and preparations weren’t wasted. We ended up having a great visit to the island and learned a lot about its biozones and wildlife.
Possibly the biggest motivation for the trip was to see the world’s smallest bird, the Bee Hummingbird. As you can see, he didn’t disappoint. What a thrill it was to see this tiny bird visiting the flowers in the yard of a welcoming Cuban family. This little fella really tested my skills but thankfully he gave me a few chances to get a photo.
