The light at San Bernard NWR was absolutely spectacular yesterday afternoon. We had the sun low on the horizon behind us and smoke from a prescribed burn in front of us that was being lit up with a fabulous purple and pink color. It was one of those situations where the setting was perfect for photos but there weren’t any birds close by to take advantage of it. Just as I was starting to get frustrated a Great Egret came flying toward us heading right for the optimum light. Thank you Great Egret!!!
