I’m thankful that I don’t have to go too far to see these beautiful Green Jays. This one was from a visit to Bentsen State Park earlier this month. Green Jays are pretty common in the Lower Rio Grande Valley but aren’t always the easiest birds to photograph. I know plenty of people who would consider this setting a bit too busy but to me this really seems appropriate since I always see them in the thorny thickets of south Texas. I thought the out of focus mesquite leaves were a really nice bonus.
