I’m definitely a fan of warblers so when there is an opportunity to see one, especially one as neat as this Mangrove Warbler (Yellow Warbler), it is tough to pass on. During our time in Tarcoles (on the west coast of Costa Rica) we had a couple of opportunities to take boat rides into the mangrove forest where this red-headed beauty lives. I have to say, it was quite a challenge to get a decent photo since these tiny birds love zipping around in the tangles of the trees where there isn’t usually a whole lot of light. This individual had some mercy on us and sat still for what seemed like a long time (probably less than 30 seconds) and we got some nice photos. It’s moments like this one that keep me addicted.
