The water was really high again this morning in Surfside, once again making finding birds in many of my favorite spots around the area somewhat challenging. Just before I was going to give up and try elsewhere this lady Belted Kingfisher swooped down in front of me, missed a fish and then hovered for a few seconds at fairly close range. I hope we see some more typical water levels soon but even with the challenges its still worth a trip out.
