This Rufous-breasted Wren really required some patience to get a photo of. I initially noticed it moving through some brush above a little stream at the Asa Wright Nature Centre in Trinidad last month. When I was preparing for the trip I read that this species tends to forage at higher levels in the vegetation and is easier to observe. Somehow this one didn’t read that information. It may not look like it in this photo but this shot was taken through a small hole in a big tangle of vegetation and was the cleanest view I was able to get after over an hour of waiting and watching.
We will be doing this trip again in spring of 2019, if you think you might be interested more information is available here: www.texastargetbirds.com/group-photo-trips/2019-trinidad/
