As beautiful as the male Purple Honeycreeper is I think the female actually might be even a little prettier. One of the things I really enjoy about doing bird photography is that I really see the birds a lot better in my photos than I do looking through binoculars because I can really study them at length. I love all the stripes and colors on this honeycreeper but what I really didn’t notice until I looked at my photos was that beautiful blue color behind the beak on this bird. I love discovering little surprises like this.
