When preparing for our trip to Costa Rica I was looking through recent bird reports for some of the areas that we planned to visit and saw a report of an unfamiliar species, the Cabanis’s Wren. After a little investigating I discovered that this species was created by a split of Plain Wren in 2016 by the AOU. During our trip I was excited to see and photograph this Cabanis’s Wren at one of the lodges we visited during the trip. It’s fun to see a new species!
We will be doing this trip again next spring, if you think you might be interested more information is available here: www.texastargetbirds.com/group-photo-trips/2018-costa-ric...
