I spent yesterday evening at East Beach in Galveston and there was a lot of human activity and a couple of dogs running around so bird activity was pretty thin. I didn’t really have time to go anywhere else so I decided to make the best of it. These Laughing Gulls provided pretty good entertainment as they seemed to play with a hermit crab out in the surf. They didn’t really seem to want to eat it but instead just chased each other around occasionally dropping it in the water and picking it back up. Eventually they seemed to get tired of the game, dropping the crab and flying off.
