When I think back about our visit to the Pantanal I think the bird that I most enjoyed watching was the Greater Rhea. I’m not sure what it is, maybe memories of playing the old video game Joust or maybe just the way they move around. For certain, when I saw them running at top speed I was nothing short of amazed. They can move very quickly and maintain the speed for quite a distance.
