One of our most popular migrating warbler species here in Texas is the beautiful male Blackburnian Warbler. It is definitely one that I try my best to photograph when they are passing through but it can really be a challenge. Each year we do a spring trip up north to New England or to Michigan to experience some of these birds on their breeding grounds. There is something special about watching and listening as they sing their songs that we rarely experience here as they are passing through. This particular beauty was photographed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last spring. I can’t wait to go back next month.
