We found this young Yellow-crowned Night Heron on a recent trip to South Padre Island and the setting was so nice I took a few photos. The light was low so I struggled some with shutter speed but it wasn’t until I got home and looked at the image on the screen that I noticed how big the bird’s pupils were. For me they really made the image.
