One of the birds that pretty much everyone wants to see when they come to visit me here in Houston is the wildly colorful Painted Bunting. Unfortunately, they don’t live here all year long. Instead, they arrive in the area around mid-April and start to get difficult to find in mid-August. This one was from June in the peak of breeding season in its full glory. I can’t wait to photograph more of them next spring.
