One of the birds I personally wanted to photograph while on our October trip to Costa Rica was the Speckled Tanager and we did have some luck seeing them and I think we all managed some photos but they always seemed to turn up when it started raining. This meant that conditions for photography were less than ideal. Such is the case when dealing with wild animals in nature. Anyway, hopefully this photo can give a little idea of the beauty of this bird until March when we will try to improve on them.
