Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus

The Hyacinth Macaw is certainly a must see bird in the Pantanal and was definitely one we were on constant lookout for. For such a big and showy bird I was a little surprised that it took us as long as it did to get a decent photo opportunity with one. This was our first realistic chance to get a shot at one in flight as it was on a sunny day. It would have been nice had it not been at noon but we were definitely excited to have one fly past fairly close with a shutter speed that was above 1/1000 second.
