Crax fasciolata
This female Bare-faced Curassow was one of many that we encountered during our recent trip to Brazil’s Pantanal. I think the females of this species really look better than the males which are pretty much black and white. We encountered rainy/overcast weather during a large portion of our visit to the area which I am told is extremely unusual for August and September. This shot was on one of the few sunny days so the color really stands out.
