Tympanuchus cupido

The bird of the day today was a fairly easy choice for everyone in our group. Without a doubt it was the Greater Prairie Chicken and though Burrowing Owl and Great Owls both also put on great shows nothing quite compared to the fantastic dances of the chickens. It seems like it will be impossible to improve on todays show at the lek but tomorrow morning we get another round round with the Greater Prairie Chickens on a different lek. To say everyone is excited is an understatement.
