Lagopus leucura

Our “chicken trip” got off to a great start this morning when we photographed this beautiful White-tailed Ptarmigan in the snow. It was windy and the snow was coming down like crazy which made locating the bird a challenge but persistance (and plenty of warm clothes) paid off and we all got nice photos. I really like the white on white.
