Here is the last shot of our Costa Rica trip and what a neat way to end a visit to such a wonderful country. Before heading to the airport we stopped at a steak out nest and immediately saw the male’s tail sticking out of the nest cavity. Before long he poked his head out of the hole and then flew off into the jungle. During our time we saw him bring several avocados to the chick. Unfortunately for us he didn’t waste any time getting into the nest so photo opps weren’t easy to come by. Literally five minutes before we had to pack up and head for the airport our subject flew up on a perch next to the nest with an avocado in his beak giving us a fantastic look. Needless to say it was a huge thrill and I don’t think any in our group will soon forget it.
