Amazona autumnalis

These Red-lored Parrots were from our October Costa Rica trip. This photo was taken shortly before our daily late afternoon rain that was the prevailing weather pattern for the trip. It certainly was pleasing that they posed for us long enough for us to get out of the van and take a couple of shots. I have seen them several times in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas but for me it is more satisfying to see them in their normal range.
