Rupornis magnirostris

We saw this Roadside Hawk while on a boat ride in Costa Rica in October. I guess that makes this one a riverside hawk! I always found the name Roadside Hawk to be amusing but does seem appropriate considering how many I have seen along various roadways in the tropics. Of all the pictures of this species I got on the October trip this one was my favorite. I liked the diagonal branch and the epiphytes; for me they give the image a tropical feel.
