Mimus polyglottos

We encountered this Northern Mockingbird while out in west Texas recently. It was hanging around a juniper that was full of berries. Every time another bird would come near the juniper the mockingbird would immediately chase it away. This was fun to watch until the mockingbird chased away a bird we really wanted to photograph. Even though we missed it the mockingbird did give us some nice photo opps like this one showing his attitude.
