Calidris alba

I saw this Sanderling running around on Bryan Beach a couple of days ago when it was gray and stormy out. It was entertaining to just watch the bird chasing the waves and probing around in the sand for food. Though they are quite common and not usually very colorful here this time of year (this is actually a color photo!) I think they still make nice photographic subjects. I really like the pattern on the back of the bird and thought the three lines of receding water in the background really added to the photo as well as the reflection.
