Pitangus sulphuratus
Here is another shot from the Rio Grande Valley. We spent a while watching this Great Kiskadee forage next to a pond. These birds are so much fun to watch because they are usually in groups and like to chase one another around and make plenty of noise. This one had just swooped down and snatched a water bug out of the water then flown up to a nearby snag to eat it. I was lucky enough to catch the moment when the Kiskadee squeezed the bug presumably to kill it just before eating it. Looks like it was a juicy morsel!
