Hearst Castle after dark, 2003 - Reedited during the coronavirus pause, 2020
A visit to Hearst Castle is always interesting. For those who take a tour by evening, it's downright magical. If you time it to arrive at the castle around sunset the views are spectacular. Reenactors roam the grounds as workers, guests, you name it. You'll see them strolling, playing games, or even calling in stories to the Hearst papers. It's well worth the visit.
I posted some of these photos before, but many weren't suitable, due to the high level of noise from using a 3MP Fujifilm camera at ISO 1600. Using the bountiful spare time that I have with the current "shelter in place" coronavirus restrictions, I have just gone through these photos once again, using more modern software this time to reduce the digital noise. They are still not prize-winners, but they do give an idea of what we saw back in 2003.
