On eternal patrol.

USS Scorpion (SS-278) – a Gato-class submarine – was lost at sea during a combat patrol during WWII with a crew of 60. It is believed to have been sunk by a Japanese mine in the Yellow Sea.

USS Scorpion (SSN-589) was a Skipjack-class nuclear submarine of the United States Navy and the sixth vessel of the U.S. Navy to carry that name. Scorpion was lost on 22 May 1968, along with 99 crewmen.
